I should have been full of Christmas cheer but I had a wake up call at my annual physical that day. My doctor told me I was on the third year of high blood sugar and high weight gain and heading toward diabetes.
He said since my hysterectomy the weight gain was the cause of my high blood sugar. He said at 56 I was cutting my life span by 15 years due to excess weight, high blood sugar and no exercise. I had two assignments to keep off insulin; lose weight (at least 40 lbs) and exercise 5 times a week.
YIKES! I was looking hard for an exercise I could do and not kill my knees. I’ve had 3 knee surgeries so most workouts were ruled out. Then I saw King 5 “Evening Magazine” and it showed Bar Method! I looked at the website and saw Lynn who is in her 70’s and was psyched to give it a go.
Bar Method is a very safe and very effective program and the staff and the clientele are incredibly supportive. I feel like I’m 20 years younger in terms of energy and strength and flexibility!
As they say a picture is worth a 1000 words- you can see how fast my middle age body changed in 3 months doing Bar Method 4-5 times a week. I am down 40 pounds and have lost 31 inches from my bust, waist, hips, thighs and upper arms. My doctor says the weight loss and reduction in inches was dramatically improved by my exercise and I agree!
